Using a qualified mediator as a problem-solver can greatly improve the process for those in the midst of a dispute.  A successful mediation will avoid a drawn-out fight and ensure that neither party sees the inside of a courtroom.  An effective mediator can help each of parties fully understand the process, ensuring that both remain involved and that neither party is sidelined.  Good mediators keep the process directed toward resolution, thus ensuring efficiency and keeping costs down.  As a result, parties gain greater control over the issues, and feel less constrained by procedure.

The mediation process is confidential and, with little exception under California law, what is said and done in mediation cannot be used in court against either client.

Among the disputes we have mediated are complex property disputes between spouses, registered domestic partners, and couples without legal status who are parting ways; custody disputes among parents; and the disputes over the estates of deceased loved ones.
